So my friend Tor is friends with a band called Still Life Still that I got a chance to hear today she has been talking about them for a while and I wanted to hear some of the tracks.... and I actually dig them they are pretty cool from the tracks that I have heard so far she describes them as a mix of Broken Social Scene and a laid back relaxed type of vibe and something you can also dance to which is pretty cool...They have a show coming up Friday Feb.27 at The Sliver Dollar on Spadina just North of College the go on at about 9:30pm... is worth checking out i will for sure be showing up ....check out the myspace for more info www.myspace.com/stilllifestill

So i am a social worker that is my major anyway and after hearing that C"WB"B beat Rihanna up I was pissed not because they are popular or whatever but because she is a female a human being and does not deserve it no one does but than people started feeling sorry for him and saying everyone makes mistakes but after this photo I think people will understand that this guy is an asshole and a monster he is a poor excuse for a man.. I have disliked him for a very long time and for those people who like him good for you but understand this could have been your moms, sister,aunt,etc.

Raphael Saadiq is coming to the dot and I just can't wait I love his style and love love love love did I say love his music he will be at the Phoenix on March 16th at 9pm which I am really looking forward to ... I am posting this because I think he is just lovely and I wanted to share how happy I am about him coming lol. Kid Cudi -this is for you Ryan

So my best friend Ry is like the biggest fan of Kid Cudi and is like crazy about his music and I am starting to think he is dope as well..it has taken me a bit to actually come to that conclusion, but after listening to his mixtape for a couple of weeks I have come to like him as well (YES IT TOOK ME THAT LONG RY ) but any who I like his style and I have been made fun of because i find him very handsome but since I sawhim in his Ray Bans i have been commenting on how good he looks ...anywho enough about the mans looks.... I like his tracks and I think people need to explore him passed Day n Nite which he released a video for today and check him out on a much better level and call me late or whatever for just talking about him now but it takes time for me to warm up to some artist. Say what you will but I am kind of in love with the NY scene right now and I am guessing is because I lived in the NY for a while before coming to the Dot but whatever the reason is ...I am really feeling this track from CurT@!n$ right now called Black Folks this is the real ish (message) have a listen .. If you have not heard his mixtape (The Great Adventures Of Dope Boy C) well this is the time to check him out I think he is really dope check out his blog and the mixtape ...PEOPLE this man's swagg is mad dope as well I love his style he is a mixer of vintage and the new ish out and he does it well.

Is been a while eh been gone for a min. but I am back school and personal ish is killing us all .. but is reading week(march break) for us so we can kind of breath. So a couple of days ago I was chillin on facebook at work and booked that Theophilus London is heading to Tdot in March(march 1st at the drake) I am mad happy about this... I'hve been listening to him for a while and I am in lust with his music...I been dancing to This Charming Mixtape all week can't stop playing it...I even made a ringtone from my fav. tracks. HOOD LOVE

So today I was talking on the phone with the coolest sisters that never take me anywhere and I blabbing on about something and I saw a picture of my new hero: TAZ ARNOLD.  He was always a person who I thought was really "fly" and had an amazing style that he presented to the world.  He is a person I can learn a lot from and look up to in terms of fashion.  Check out his line TI$A which he is working with PHENOMENON and SWAGGER based in Japan which are two amazing brands. 

BEST I EVER HAD!

A lot of people aren't ready to believe that Toronto has produced an artist besides form Kardi that can role with our neighbors to the south.  Well we have Drake aka Drizzy Drake Rogers aka Heartbreak Drake and any other silly name Lil' Wayne has conjured up while smoking massive blunts in the studio.  Anyways this mixtape my friends in blog land is pretty DOPE it is a good listen and Drake reminds us once again he is here for three things: To take become successful, show that Toronto has some talent and last but certainly not least watch out because he might take your girl.  

FYI: I actually met Drake at Ransom one day, but to be honest with you it wasn't that big because I just finished talking to Zeb Munir who I honestly think is one of the coolest cats in the city, yeah Audbrey's cool and all but ZEB!! Shout out to Nomad.  Writing this makes me feel like a loser....

It has been a couple gillion, million, sextillion (thats a real number) days, hours and blogging minutes I have been M.I.A (ha she is below this post) and it is due to my ever growing agenda.  So let's start with New York fashion week the great Tim Hamilton. O-M-G! This collection is DAMM.  I never knew shorts could be so cool. This is his Fall Collection for 2009 and might I say he did a swell job at it.  A MUST BUY.

Grammy's

So, i didn't bother watching the Grammy's because it was too predictable and i figured it would be boring. Talking to Pat confirmed my prediction. All the top selling artist were performing, and occasionally there would be tributes. YAWN! Predictable! Instead i opted to watch a doc on TLC about a woman with massive legs (very interesting might i add). Anyways, I will be mos def catching the M.I.A. performance on youtube because i couldn't be bothered to watch the whole show. Apparently, M.I.A. was amazing and full of energy considering she was due to give birth Grammy evening. She has had an amazing year with Paper Planes in Pinneaple Express and Slumdog Millionaire. Jay Z also made a remix to BOYZ. I've been listining to M.I.A. for about 7 years now and she never fails to amaze me. It gives me hope that a dork like me can make it out! I'll raise a glass to her and hope for a safe delivery. Let's hope The Cool Kids will make it to the Grammys in the near future.

The World is Coming to an End

The Sesame Street Dancing R&B cool kid, Chris Brown, which by the way took the shine away from Omarion (my other boo) has turned himself into the "PO PO" after being idenified by a woman as being the person who assaulted and threatened her after an argument had erupted with the singer in a car. After the assault, he zipped out of the scene. Has he gone MAD! To make matters more interesting it wasn't Rihanna...is he cheating on her? Im not trying to start anything...im just saying ; ) Well, Chris and Rihanna were suppose to make an appearance at the Grammy's, but decided to sit this one out. They didn't miss out! It's official Christopher Brown is a felon. Good job! Now he can consider himself "hood", because we all know that tat's don't legitimize a bad boy. Best believe i'll be watching TMZ for an official update on the story!
